MARTIN JEPSON
Founder
Martin has a strong track record in Central London office developments and investments, but also in residential and mixed-use developments across the UK. Formerly President and COO, UK Office Division, Brookfield Property Partners, he has also held executive positions Hammerson, Howard Holdings, Taylor Woodrow and Delancey. Martin has worked extensively in acquisition, disposal, asset management and development, both on a project and portfolio basis, winning “Deal of the Year” awards every year between 2012 and 2016 prior to establishing Ergo Real Estate in 2018. Martin is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a past board member of BCO. Martin is passionate about raising funds for Charity and was previously a trustee of Sparks and was Chairman of their Annual Ball from 2010 to 2017, raising more than £2 million for research into children's diseases.
NIGEL GURKIN
Finance Manager
Nigel is a chartered accountant having trained with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in the UK. In 1992, he joined Speciality Shops and then became finance director of the Milner Group, managing 12 shopping centres. He joined Shops etc Ltd as finance director before taking part in a management buyout in 2011 to form Plus Shops Retail, managing a portfolio of shopping centres on behalf of the Moorfield Group. Nigel then moved to the listed company, New Frontier Properties, in 2016 as Finance Director before leaving in 2018 to re-join Martin Jepson at Ergo.
LEIGH BURNETT
Asset Manager
Leigh is an Asset Manager with 25 years experience in the UK property market. Leigh, former Managing Director of Plus Shops and Director of Asset Management at Waypoint and Eddisons has a strong track record in the asset management of retail assets, shopping centres and leisure developments throughout the UK. She is accustomed to dealing with multiple properties and a range of portfolio requirements simultaneously. Asset Management highlights during her career include the procurement of an extension to a Shopping Centre in the North West for a new retail store and Imax cinema with an element of A3 use. Other projects include the delivery of a leisure extension to a large regional shopping centre, securing planning and procurement for the conversion of a printworks to a department store, numerous retailer extensions and configurations of existing space to create space to fulfil tenant requirements. Such projects have improved the capital value of the assets and saleability. Leigh has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for over 20 years, a member of Revo.
VERITY WATERBURY
Investment Executive
Verity joined Ergo in January 2020 and is an MRICS qualified Surveyor with a BA Hons in Geography and Planning from Newcastle University and an MSc in Real Estate from Cass Business School. Verity previously worked in the Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield and has experience across the West End, Retail and Business Space sectors.
JAMES JEPSON
Investment Executive
James has over 6 years’ experience of working within the Central London office market. Prior to joining Ergo in November 2020, James worked within the Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield specialising in Development Transactions. His time at C&W included a year long secondment within the London Development team at Landsec in 2017, where he worked on the delivery of Nova Victoria: Landsec & CPPIB’s 550,000 sq. ft Joint Venture. James is an MRICS qualified Surveyor and a graduate of the Universities of Nottingham and Reading.
CHANTAL STAATS
Office Manager
Chantal is the Office Manager for Ergo Real Estate. She is equipped with the exceptional ability to facilitate all aspects of internal and external communications, support the day to day administrative tasks and has a proven talent for aligning business objectives with comprehensive administrative knowledge to conserve time and boost efficiency. Prior to joining Ergo Real Estate, Chantal worked with Martin at Brookfield and Hammerson.
